Our Premium Audio Restoration Process
Click & Pop Reduction
When listening to an old LP on a turntable (if you even have
a turntable!) you're running a diamond needle over plastic.
Now if a diamond can cut glass, imagine what it's doing to
the record. Yes, it slowly wears away the plastic and the
performance with it! With repeated playing, over time a vinyl
record begins to develop those clicks and pops you hear so
much of. And have you ever scratched a record? The needle
can actually become stuck. Our premium restoration process
greatly reduces all that. Once your LP or cassette has been
transfered to our digital environment, we can visually inspect
the file on our computer. Think of it as an audio x-ray. Then
we set our process to search out and correct the "audio
artifacts". Depending on the condition of the LP or cassette
and the depth of the restoration, our software can find and
fix up to 100,000 defects in each track!
Hiss & Noise Reduction
Ever wonder why cassette tapes develop so much hiss over time?
Ever wonder why cassette decks have a "Noise Reduction"
switch? Just like the diamond needle/vinyl record scenario,
a cassette deck works by dragging the mylar (plastic) tape
over a metal tape head. With repeated playing, over time the
tape head actually wears away the tape and the performance
with it. Our premium restoration process greatly reduces all
that. Once your LP or cassette has been transfered to our
digital environment, we can visually inspect the file on our
computer. Again it's like an audio x-ray. We then set our
process to search out and correct the "audio artifacts".
Depending on the condition of the LP or cassette and the depth
of the restoration, our software can find
and fix up to 100,000 defects in each track!
Sample mp3 #1, BEFORE
our process (Lots of clicks & pops). AFTER
our process (That's much better!)
Sample mp3 #2, BEFORE our process (Clicks, pops & lots of hiss). AFTER our process (Ahhhh!)
"I listened to the Spider John and it was perfect.
I am very pleased. Thanks for a great job and I look forward
to good listening." John H., Deep River
Is this process legal?
Absolutely! If you own the original LP or cassette and you keep the new CD copy for your personal use.
Or if you are the copyright holder or the work is in the public domain, there are no restrictions.
How long does this process take?
Generallyy, we get your single LP or cassette transfer and
restoration done within 72 hours of when we receive it. Larger
orders take longer and are determined on an individual basis.
Please note:
- Price is for a maximum of 5, LP or Cassette transfers/restorations.
- Price is for consumers only, for personal or non-commercial use.
- Transfers are one-to-one. That means one LP or cassette
to one CD.
- Transfers are audio only. We do not offer label, graphic
or artwork services.
