The ART of Voice Over I, summer session

Learn the Fundamentals of Voice Over Performance. Fast Paced and Fun.
June 11 - July 16, 2013

The voices you hear in commercials, narrations, movie trailers and audio books belong to real people who make good money doing it. You could too! This course introduces students to the primary fundamentals of voice over performance, through solo and group mock auditions. Students are shown the essential skills of reading, thinking and speaking that is required of voice over artists, regardless of their area of specialization. The course presents methods of voice over performance including; sight-reading, pacing, diction, enunciation and breathing, as well as script analysis and interpretation. Informative handouts included.

The ART of Voice Over I course overview:
· How to do a Read Through, and find out why it's the most important read of all
· How to use Pro Pacing Techniques, and get it right the first time
· How to use your Breathing as a Tool
· How to Enhance your Diction and Enunciation
· Learn Solo and Ensemble performing techniques
· Develop your Confidence and Performing Skills
· Radio Commercials: Single and Multi Character
· Narrations: Informational, Instructional and Story Telling styles

FEE: $140
Six weeks. Six sessions.
6 Tuesdays - June 11, 18, 25 and July 2, 9, 16.

The BUSINESS of Voice Over, summer session

Learn the Basics of Starting and Maintaining a Voice Over Business.
July 23 - August 13, 2013

Most people who get into voice over, never make any money at it. In fact, most voice over artists do it part-time or even as a hobby. This course introduces students to the fundamentals and requirements of starting and maintaining a successful home-based, free lance voice over business, regardless of their area of specialization. The course presents the standards, practices and options available regarding business entities, organizational skills, agents, unions, voice over niches and voice over web sites, as well as how to promote and market yourself. Includes a copy of Getting Started in Voice-Overs: The Ultimate Beginners Guide.

· Organizational Skills, and Why They're So Important For Voice Over
· Why You Need a Top Notch Voice Over Demo, and How To Create and Package It

· Over 30 Ways to Promote Yourself, and the Top 10 to Start With
· Auditon and Voice Over Job Etiquette.
· Why You Need a Voice Over Web Site, and Why Yours Could Be Hurting You
· Why You Should Have a Home Studio, and Make It Pay For Itself
